Brilliant green-gold color. Rich green apple aroma, with notes of banana leaf and flint on the Nose. Medium-light bodied, with good acidity. 13% alc. not noticeable; rich; well-balanced; a bit high-toned; more zest and verve than the average Chardonnay; I like this a lot (and am amazed when it’s revealed as a Chablis, for which it is quite rich).

Pale yellow with a green tinge and very light rim. At first it smelled purely of wet stones and minerals.. with air and warming, distinctive lychee fruit aromas, lemon and orange peel emerged. Neverthless, this remained a stony, flinty, mineral laden nose. The palate is intense, with more lychee fruit, lemons, grapefruit, perhaps some tangerine? In any case, lots of complex citris fruit plays beautifully off the stones and minerals, with intense stoney finish lingering for 40+ seconds. Light bodied, intense, interesting, will likely age well.

Dead, not sure if it qualifies as Pre-mox? It is 17 years old, but I hoped a Premier Cru would survive that long.

Nice chablis with good fruit, but a little softer than expected - not the steely mineral of a great chablis. Good, not great. 12/00
