  • This bottle was much better when I last tasted it at the 5th or 6th year mark. Despite 2014 being a great vintage for white burgundy, this seemed lacking in character with additional bottle aging. With the freshness gone, some of the balance was off. Sure there was nice elegance, but oak notes / toasted vanilla seemed to linger on more than it should have, and along with tartness. This bottle at this stage (pop and pour, no decanting needed) unfortunately also did very little with food that would otherwise pair very nicely with white wine (salads, seafood, vegetarian pasta). Could be a factor of the producer, bottle variation, or the fact these aren't meant to age till 9 or 10 years (unlike some other producers). Glad I don't have anymore.
