Retailer tasting (@ vdV): Enormous amount of toasted oak. In the bouquet as well as the taste. The burnt oak is overruling everything else. I don't think it will ever recover.

$69.99 retail, before discount. Expressive, very typical Chassagne nose of appley fruit, light citrus and lyers of caramel and faint vanilla. On the palate, rather large-scaled, with more of everything you would expect from the nose. Big falvors of apple, caramel and light vanilla, with an underlying citrus component. Nice acidity comes through on the finish. Impressive, but not inexpensive. I'd bet on this being more of a short - mid tern ager. Certainly, it's wide open at the moment...
