  • Nose: white chocolate, hints of butter, white flower, sesame,
Notes: pop and poured. This wine shows the enhanced acidity of Chassagne while delivering a refined palate. A very decent Chassagne by any standards. Quite light and crispy due to the young age you can feel plenty of energy in the wine. Whilst I cannot pick anything absent from this wine I also think it lacks the complexity of a top white but given its appellation I do not think one should complain about it. In all fairness I really think the nose is quite perfect it's just that the palate couldn't catch up completely. A couple more years of aging surely will help.

  • Popped and poured. Pale yellow. Flinty, grapefruit and spice on the nose. Lively and acidic palate, showing citrus rind and even some chalkiness on the taut texture. Really firmed up in the glass

  • Bright gold; opens out to show lovely vanilla blancmange, subsumed oak which initially tries to assert itself, subtly fragrant; tremendous drive & acidic cut, plenty of extraction, weighty; racy finish. Splendid. Drink now & next 5 years.

  • Oaky profile with noticeable mid-palate sweetness. I preferred the Saint Aubin this evening as there was much better balance. (89)
