Quite pale peachy yellow color with a very subtle copper core. Honestly, this looks like a white wine with some age, not a rosé. The nose is super-sweet with very rich aromas of apple juice concentrate, blanched almonds, some hay, a little bit of peach and a hint of something slightly wild je-ne-sais-quoi. I'm thinking a 5 years old Verdicchio at the moment. The wine is lively, full-bodied and fruity on the palate with quite lively, moderately high acidity and vibrant flavors of apple juice concentrate, slivered almonds, some hay, a little bit of peach, a hint of creaminess and a touch of steely minerality. The wine is quite rich, yet surprisingly fresh and structured with its acidity. The moderately long finish is lively, fresh and juicy with ripe, succulent flavors of white apples, almond slivers, some peach, a little bit of hay and a hint of cantaloupe.

No-one got this wine right, not by a long shot. People were guessing different white wines for minutes before the one who poured us the wine asked us "is this a white wine?" Even then no-one had any idea where we were or what this was. There's no red color to speak of, nor is there any typical aromas of Loire Cabernet Franc. So no wonder no-one thought of rosé at any point. I was pretty adamant that this was a Verdicchio until that aforementioned question, after which I thought of some Vin Gris of Lorraine - which really wasn't that far-fetched, in retrospect. So, this isn't as much a rosé wine than it is a still Blanc de Noirs or a vin gris. But a terrific little everyday wine for weekday meals in any case! Worth its price at 15€.
