  Five hour decant. Deep garnet color, bright, fully opaque, glass-coating. Stately, expressive aromatics. Classic Napa Cab notes of blackberry & cassis, pressed violet, tobacco leaf, hints of fresh mint, cedar, leather, spices like clove and allspice. Rich, concentrated, broad-shouldered palate - black fruit over a dense core of tapenade, cedar, iron, tea and spices. Ample ripeness. Voluminous and round on the mid-palate, with enough acid to lift its weight. Big tannins - fleshy, rounded, approaching fine. Warm length on the finish. Very young, exuberant ripeness and huge concentration and structure, but firmly knit and nicely complex. Needs a lot of air, and will benefit from further bottle age.

  Very good bottle of wine but did not live up to the price. Generally well balanced but tended toward bright fruit forward and being light bodied with little depth not very long finish. Perhaps at half the price I would have a more excited response.
