[Stromboli: sicilian pizza.] Ruby red in color. Started w/o food. pleasant but left a little aftertaste like a diet soda. With the pizza much better black fruit, smoke, and spice. Smooth tannins. Didnt detect any vanilla this time.

[Stromboli: sicilian pizza.] 50% Merlot, 25% Cab, 25% Nebbiolo. Ruby red in color. Saddleleather and spice on the nose. On the palate, black fruit, vanilla, smoke, and spice. Smooth tannins. Full-bodied and well balanced. Long finish with a lingering aftertaste. Clearly not a pizza wine; next time will try a spicy meat. Needs no decanting; in fact my only negative comment is that it was at peak when first opened. A GREAT value @ $17. (*)
