This wine is maybe 75% about the oak, but I can live with that on some occasions. Rich on the nose and quite spicy and bitter on the palate, with root beer and hints of tangy lemon/lime fighting through on the finish; the underlying acid structure keeps you coming back for more despite the richness of the wood treatment. Much more enjoyable than the 2017 I had recently, suggesting this wine needs time to come together.

The best white Bordeaux I've had this year - and it's from South Africa! Green apples, musk, sandal wood and vanilla on the nose, a fat body with some spice and very long fresh finish that just makes me happy.
