At a restaurant and would have loved to have 4 more hours with this wine as I think there was more to unfold. Many layers, dark fruit, tobacco and spices, long finish. This has many more years to go and is a great QPR for such an interesting wine (although maybe not at the crazy restaurant prices!!!)

Deep dark red color. Dark berries, cassis and light licorice notes. After about 60 minutes in decanter, floral notes started to come through. 30-40 second finish and tannins have settled very nicely.

Third wine at the California Wines table for Oakton Wine Shops Third Annual Bucket List Tasting. Deep ruby red. A bit restrained on the nose with notes of dark berries, a touch blue too with cassis and a touch floral. Medium plus tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Layered palate with blue and black fruits, followed by cinnamon, minerals and dark cocoa. Long finish. Drink till 2029.

Took more than 2 hours in a decanter to open up. Dust, graphite, dark fruits on the nose. Cassis and plum on the palate. Long, pleasant finish. Has that Jean character of mountain fruit. A winner!
Even better on day 2.
