Opened 3 hours before consuming but not decanted. Mint, graphite, cardamom dominate on the nose. Some blackberry and plum on the palate. Well-balanced with nicely integrated tannins. 14.9 alcohol with only a hint of heat on the finish. Can drink now with food, but the tannic profile is still a bit dominant for drinking without food.

black in the glass. Blueberry jam nose. Really big over the top smooth and pleasing. cherry pie and blackberry jam with noticeable vanilla oak treatment and somewhat dry tannins. enjoyable bottle of wine, but not for dinner, but more like an after dinner port substitute 86-90

Near black. Big smooth and pleasing. Really high quality fruit taking on blueberry blackberry and noticeable vanilla oak treatment. Super long mouthcoating cherry blast finish. This was a really enjoyable bottle of wine- but I wouldn't call this introspective or even interesting. I wonder how these wines would taste with a little more pips and stems in the maceration to lend a nuance of slight bitterness this wine could use.

David Arthur dinner w/David Long (Four Seasons restaurant in NYC): This is young and still a bit in the disjointed phase. The oak and vanilla more pre-dominant. The fruit more muted although there's definitely some blueberry and similar. Would be interesting to come back to in maybe 5 or so years.

Excellent with steak dinner. Tannins still very present, but complimented food well.
