The context was much more favourable for this second bottle and I liked it a lot. Riesling fragrance and fruit were present but the dominating impression was of focus, tension, fine minerals, lively moreish acidity and backbone with a saline streak. It is possible that more time will tame these elements and bring out more graciousness of fruit and aroma but I like it in this vigorous and enlivening vein. Very good.

I think I did this wine no favours by taking my first sip after Lustau's Fino, which initially made this Riesling seem quite thin by comparison. As my palate recalibrated I perceived citrus fruit on a quite dry medium- body with growing fragrance, minerals, fresh acidity, backbone and, as the wine took air, a slight round spicy undertow which contributed complexity. At the present time decanting might help and more time should reveal a wine fully worthy of its GC status. Good.

Perfect dry style riesling. Very typical of the grape. Mineral with petroleum and citrus flavors. Medium lenght and complexity. I like it a lot.
