  Disappointing, although perhaps in a dumb phase (based on other comments). It seems too generic for a DuBoeuf. Gassed and sampled a few days later didn't help, as it took on a sour note. I have a couple more bottles -- let's see what another try brings.

  This is a nice wine esp for the price, and I could see it aging well for the next ten years.
  
  As it is it deserves some time to open up and do not serve it too cold. The chill emphasizes rough tannin and a chalkiness that is overly assertive.
  
  Good red fruit play, pom, cranberry and there may be some plum (?). interesting wine some complexity, definitely notched up intensity, and, to be sure, a little clumsy.
