  • Dark red color. Drank a glass over 40 minutes. Clay and earth on the nose with dark cherry, pepper, and more subtle Provencal herbs. The palate is satiny, balanced, tart black cherry, hints of boysenberry skins, clay, pepper and medium bodied.

  • PnP. Color is opaque purple with a bit of purple-red at the edge. Aromas of medium berry such as boysenberry, herbs and a ferric note. Let sit for about 5 minutes before sampling. On the palate medium berry, savory herbs, somewhat grippy tannin, medium acid leaving a fairly dry finish with a slight ferric finish. We drank the wine away from my notes. It came across with a more balanced finish with food. We enjoyed this with dinner of lentil soup with greens and turkey pesto meatballs.

  • On the nose, blackberry, floral notes, wet moss, strawberry and anise. The palate hit hard with mouth coating tannins, cinnamon, black pepper, and spice. Hiding in the tannins and spice I encountered black currant and fig notes. The finish is spicy and makes the tip of my tongue tingle. It is pleasant, warm, lingering, dryness which is very rewarding and invites another sip, or a bite or prime rib. This can sit in a cellar for a while to chill out its animal side. The crowd favorite.
