  • I have been back and forth on this one as I go through the case. Not sure if that is bottle variation. Better with food, and needs to be the right temp - not too cold. Dark golden color showing off more age than its at, and definitely improves with a significant amount of air.

  • Popped and poured, and drank with grilled with fish and chicken. Mixed feelings on this one and not over the moon on his one.

  • Last review nailed it. Golden color. A nice mature white burgundy, good complexity, ready to be drunk. Still has some nice freshness to it, and a lot of toasty notes, butterscotch, honeycomb, with ripe white fruit characteristics. Good balance and texture on the palate, nice finish (cloves?) - which changed throughout the few hours it was opened.

  • Fioranos and Great Bottles (Tim's, SF): Moderate gold with reflections of yellow.
Some development - bruised pear, savory toasted apple. Not the overt nuttiness and oak you'd expect from Meursault. Tart, cool fruit. Cool pear on a stone. Iced lemon. Dried sweet lemon.
Moderate and well-integrated new oak - I'd guess 20-30% (producer website says max 30%). . Slight creme brulee, slight toasty sweetness, spun sugar.
In the mouth, medium bodied, with elevated alcohol that seems 13.5%? (correct) and thrillingly high acid. Lemon curd, stones, and saline mineral notes on the finish.
This is strong and lithe at the same time. The fruit and structure are knit together with mineral and citrus tones.
As it warms up and opens, the finish resembles apple pie before going into the oven: Cold pastry dough with slight cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Tart Granny Smith apples with a spritz of lemon.
    Between 9 and 9.5

  • Sensational. Complex and approachable. All of the flinty character of a puligny along with a well balanced green apple fruit core. Delicious.
