Zachy's La Paulee 2022 (Le Bernardin Prive): Crazy old Burgundy aromatics, rose petal, blue fruit, spicy, tea, smoky. So clean and pure, the sweet palate in perfect harmony with pronounced vintage acidity. Alive and kicking! 93-94

complex, eterealized nose of a refined melange of red and black fruits, but much richer than the 85 drunk with. luscious, delectable fruit gives and gives. an almost claret-like reserve coupled with burgundian generosity. long, echoing finish.

Tasted on my birthday dinner with top Chinese sommeliers, educators and wine maker in HK. Vibrant and lively with full body structure in my mouth, held up well against the 89 Chapoutier pavilion. Great bottle for my birthday!

I can't recall this being decanted how many times in the dinner, but I felt relief as the wine was still alive when I tasted it. This is definitely a strong wine and I enjoyed the nose more than the palate as the bouquet was so fine, complex and seductive: still possess intense core of sweet dark fruits, dried fig as well as haw flakes sailed along side with game, dried tea leaves and mineral. The strong intense palate is still positively structured with layered of rich sweet dark fruits and mocha like bitterness. Still some harsh tannin there and I suspected this is due to the vintage. Finished is long and grippy. Very good though not refine.

Lovely mature clean Pinot Noir aroma, more root than fruit at this age; well-matured, not very concentrated but well-balanced, sufficient flesh, no signs of rot or drying tannins; good length. Stylish wine.
