Made from 2.6ha of Pelaverga Piccolo (distinct from Pelaverga Grosso) in Verduno, unoaked, 14% ABV. Very light colour, pale strawberry; fresh but also slightly dusty nose of redcurrants and black pepper; supple attack, transparent, hint of cocoa, redcurrants and strawberries, almonds and roses, quite tannic (much more so than the 2013 tasted last year); light finish, slightly tea-like, good length. At pizzeria La Perla, Amsterdam, NL.

A simple wine that's probably over priced at $20. Taste more like Nebbiolo than Pelaverga. Light in body. Easy to drink, pleasing transparent garnet in a glass. Something that might rival a good Grignolino.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and medium+ tannins. The acidity is refreshing, but the tannins are a bit stalky. The feel is refined and easy going with white pepper, strawberries, crushed rocks, and spice notes.
Overall: This is a fun and balanced wine. This was my first experience with Pelaverga and I really enjoyed it. It's a unique and intriguing wine that is well worth trying for something outside the box.

I didn’t care for this style. Might have been past drinking window, but was very woody for my taste.

Very fresh, easygoing wine. Very aromatic, red fruit (strawberry), tannins give a good grip.

Piedmont Trip, Day 1- Brezza, Fratelli Alessandria, Burlotto (Barolo, Piemont, Italy): Nose: The nose is highly aromatic and spicy with white pepper, dark red cherries, strawberries, and crushed rocks. While it lacks some depth, there is a lot of fun and intrigue on the nose.
