Sincere gold. Iodine, nuts, seashells, and smoke on the nose. Full-flavored but not as weighty as before, with intense, dry flavors that are both leesy and mineral, including dried apple rings, liquid wood, and an unripe apricot character (both flesh and pit). Veritably triumphant Verdicchio.

A small Languedoc-Roussillon tasting: Weighty, deep Verdicchio, with energy and punch that are surprising given its age.
