60% sauvignon blanc, 40% semillon. The back label says "A boire autour de 3 ans", so I guess I'm coming to this a little later than recommended.
It needs to be open for maybe 20 minutes for some initial bitterness to blow off, but then it's rather nice, albeit not in the same league as its big brother Chateau Carbonnieux.
The nose is somewhat sweeter than I would expect from these grapes, and with a touch of minerality. And the palate has a bit less bite than I would expect from 60% SB: it's very smooth, with the semillon a little to the fore, but, frankly a little thin overall for my taste and lacking in complexity. The finish is quite short and not very interesting.
However, overall this is a very approachable wine, easy drinking, a decent introduction to white Bordeaux and OK QPR at ~US$19

Who can resist a white Pessac-Leognan from an established estate — Chateau Carbonnieux — for under $20? I couldn't, and this wine did not disappoint. Rather golden in color with the complex aromas and flavors of a fully mature white Graves, which was served with a chicken piccata. This was my introduction of white Bordeaux to wine friends who like Sauvignon Blanc but have never tasted a Graves. They loved it!

I do not drink enough BDX Blanc. Really nice grapefruit and crushed stone profile. sharp acids but palate is round enough to support it. nice and a great value.

Medium gold color. Grapefruit and lemon balm on the nose. Mineral and a little talc are added on the palate. Short finish. Drink now.
