Chateau Le Puy Tasting: A curious bottle; a bit of a worrying oxidized note. Probably just the bottle. I doubt that's the intended style because none of the other mature vintages bore the mark of the "natural" wine. But it couldn't hide the spice profile which seems typical to mature Merlot. For that, it was enjoyable - but for the price of $525, an easy pass. Not worth 1/4 that, I'm afraid.

Chateau Le Puy Tasting (Flat Iron Wines, NY, NY): Garnet with slight bricking. On the nose a bit of barnyard funk reminiscent of the 2011, but with some additional age. Very elegant on the palate, acid, fruit and tannins all in balance. My notes indicate "no hard edges". Mature but still very fresh and delicious but not as complex as the '75.
