Pop and pour. Lovely, perfumed (in a good way) nose of blackberries, oak, black cherry and dry rose. Out of the gate, quite acidic, even while paired with a tomato sauce dish. The wine very quickly evolves (do not recommend decanting). After 30-60 minutes the acid loses its edges and becomes more integrated with the drying tannins. Black cherries, dried figs on palate. Finish has drying, bitter chocolate. Fruit degrades after 90 minutes, so drink up!
Delicious wine, far surpasses its price in quality.

There is a smoky and jammy scent to this wine. Tastes of chocolate-covered strawberries (and maybe some blueberries) with hints of cinnamon. Smooth and mellow. The best chianti we've had in a while.

There is a smoky and jammy scent to this wine. (It's an obscure reference, but it reminds us of the wood they burn in Perugia.) Tastes of chocolate-covered strawberries. Smooth and mellow. The best chianti we've had in a while.
