Last of these sadly. Tasting note is really no different from the last bottle. This was outstanding value and would give many a Cru Bourgeois Claret at two or three times the price some serious competition. I have some later vintages too and am tempted to run a direct comparison! Highly recommended

This is now in a great place for drinking. Presents a little like a rather ripe Cru Bourgeois claret. It has a lovely palate combining fresh blackcurrants and green pepper. The pepper is not excessively green an integrates nicely with the fruit. There are pleasantly refreshing levels of acidity and tannin. Nice finish. Fantastic QPR

A deep colour; soft, rather sweet, blackcurrant fruit, nicely rounded but quite simple. Decent enough, especially for the price, but a bit too sweet for my taste.

This was a tough one to make out. The color is beautifully dark and almost opaque with a fresh garnet rim, indicating it is still youthful with aging potential. The nose is very strong alcohol vapor masking faint floral notes. Tart acidity competes with dark berry and plum notes. Tannins are bitter without yielding to much noteworthy complexity on the finish besides a peppery bite. I doubt this wine will become better integrated with more time. Might as well enjoy now with strong flavored savory food pairings.

Evolving nicely with less of those crunchy tannins that have been a potential spoiler before. Very good vfm.
