  A clear medium ruby with some tears. Nose of medium intensity, recalling sweet black cherries, blackberries, figs, candied rhubarb, prunes, mocha/coffee, carob, mesquite bbq sauce, pot roast. Fruits definitely have a dried character. Palate registers as similarly roasted, but with a much needed overlay of lighter red fruits (more tart red cherries than on the nose, red liquorice). Full-bodied and rich with medium length finish. Devoid of some of this grape’s more notorious features, and maybe still haunted by one or two.
