A rich and viscous modern Pinot Noir. Fruit forward style with cherry balanced by some prune flavor. The mid palette is quite complex with a flavor of the terroir it comes from. Finish includes mushroom and some forest floor. lovely.

Sonoma Pinot but very much in the Russian River style. Intense ripe strawberry on the nose. Jammy, dense, sumptuous red fruit. Great QPR. Has a Kosta Browne quality to it.

State Bird Provisions (San Francisco): A rich, viscous style that knows how to pull back in time to remind you it was made with attention to detail and notable craftsmanship in mind. The initial attack after PnP was a rush of dark black cherry and black raspberry fruit, followed by beautifully balanced notes of spice box, black soil, and a tinge of truffle and leather. My favorite of the Pinots served at the table.
I was not just drawn to the viscosity and depth of the wine, but also the way other contributing flavors elevated the core fruit and added to the complexity of the wine overall. Very well done. 93+ points. Drink now and over the next 3 years.
