Riposte 2016 "The Dagger" Pinot Noir (Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australia) 25/03/2017
Dark, clear and vibrant ruby. Beautiful blend of red berries and plum, baked apple berry pie comes to mind, with the addition of herbaceous tones. Very attractive. Rich texture filling the mouth. Fresh fruity, more raspberry and sour dark/black cherries, touch of black currants moving quickly to savoury characters that linger. Acid is just over powering the finish. A year or so in the cellar would be good. Good value pinot. $22 AUD

Nose shows heavy notes of Chambord and violet. Palate shows sweet, slightly cloying flavours of black cherry and prune, with hints of charcoal and burnt clove. Moderate acidity and bitter tannins lead to a dry finish. Disjointed.
