Found one last bottle of this in the cellar. Surprisingly deep rich garnet colored; classic nose of forest floor, burg stink yet richness of fruit remains. On palate is velvety smooth, rich in dark red fruit then the subtle rush of just the right amount of bright acidity carries a nice all-around impression through a long, impressive finish. Surprisingly good and plenty of life left; no recollection of this wine so surprised to see how much I liked it from previous note 5 1/2 years ago!

Cork broke in 2 pieces, but managed to pull both. Brick/plum color with slightly more bricking on the edge, very slow legs, medium/light body wine. There's no more fruit on either the nose or palate, but i am rewarded with tons of secondary nose of earth and meat, lots of meat! Same with the palate: earthy, leather and tar. Tannins and acid are still very prominent which makes this wine fresh and enjoyable to drink with dark chocolate and aged gouda. But, it's slightly past its prime. I say, drink! Drink! Drink!

Was looking for something appropriate for a cool day of watching football and then enjoying with roast chicken. Full garnet color with clear rim; intoxicating nose of classic red burgundy (autumn, leaves, earthiness). All that balanced with nice red fruits and a touch of cola; firm acidity yet silky texture; superb length of lingering dark cherry. Classy!
