  Extraordinary spicy nose, distinct whiff of pastrami like walking into Katz's deli in New York, then some mint came through,
  Fading but still with some sweet fruit and a lovely gentle cinnamon spice.
  Everyone else dismissed this as over the hill but I rather liked it, old bones but still showing some beauty.

  I thought these had all gone but just found this one hiding away behind some younger vintages of the same wine. The last one I had of these only a few months ago was already old - deep brick coloured and lacking in fruit. This one, stored identically since purchase in about 2002, was as good as any I remember - still a rich red, eucalyptus on the nose, smooth and easy to drink, if not complex.
