Last tried it when it was released 3 years ago and probably liked its freshness and boldness back then better than the aged, earthier package that it is showing now. Dried fruits, forest, nuts on the profile.

7/10 Blind, I would have guessed a young Syrah from limestone, chalk and marl soils, well made and natural. It's slightly effervescent, which means to me that it was naturally made with not much SO2.
Big and fruity with nose of ripe blackberry and olialleberry. The mid palate is slutty and amazingly real tasting of pure juice, clean and prompting of more bigger gulps. - 14.5% is well masked, easy drinking and an amazingly long finish. Those minerals come through and coat the tongue for a good 30 seconds of enjoyment. Revisits to the nose show a sharp chalky grip, suggesting of brett. This would pair well with meat and charred meat with tangy sauce. There is a lot going on here. Highs and mids of chalk and lime, good velvet tannins and interesting fruit mixed with mineral complexity. I am loving the sharp, tart mixed with ripe blackberry and finish of mineral chalky grip. It dances all over my mouth and goes down easy with desires to go for another glass. Great value, and a fantastic picnic/BBQ wine for $14. Shoot! This easily beats out American wines for $60! In fact, if this quality came from CA they would charge $60+ and do! Except that I highly doubt you could find it without manipulation, meaning added acid, yeasts or flavorings. So, stick to these imports, because sadly, America can't compare. Maybe, educated palate pressure on this American wine system can change its deleterious manipulative behavior. Please, USA, do something like this.

Sour cherry, spice, vanilla. Simple but good. Not overly rustic.

Popped and poured. Mild leafy aroma. Rich, loamy cherry flavor. Regal Crown sour cherry finish. Linear, firm backbone, attractive fruit, nuanced flavors. Good basic Barbera, excellent value.

Tart cherries, ocean air/brine/Olive, tight, acidity is medium plus. Goes well with fatty foods.
