Nose of cola, sassafras, dark chocolate, alcohol, potting soil, tobacco pouch, musky, and generous. Big, round, and spicy with cocoa butter, bitters, actually a big hit of Angostura here to offset the slight kiss of RS that also seems to be giving a touch of refermentation and spritz. A remarkable and interesting wine that needs cheese or light dessert rather than normal dinner fare. Bussola wines are always fun.

Can hardly believe how good this wine is. Full bodied, complex, dark colour right out of the bottle, deep concentrated notes of earth and tobacco. Great richness of flavours on the palate, with medium tannins rounding out a finish that is 30 seconds plus. The only small criticism I have is a slight sharpness on this finish. But overall, I cannot exaggerate how well this wine is drinking and how Bussola's style is well suited for aging. Notice how the last review is from 2012? There is still an unfair perception that these Valpolicella's cannot age but what you have to realize is when you are dealing with quality like Bussola, this wine is more akin to an age worthy Amarone. I'd highly recommend current vintages be bought and stored. Fans of complex old world wines will not be disappointed.

This was an amazing wine and it ready to drink now. I am glad we waited. Dark fruit and hints of raisin flavor. Still has some aging potential but I would not wait too long. We are going to drink our other bottle this year.
