Fully mature but lovely wine. Rosehips, forest floor and bonfires on the noze. Sweetly fruited bit developed well in the decanter, soft red fruits. Excellent but needs drinking.

Over the hill; probably peaked this time last decade. I agree with the mud comment below, but there isn't enough acid on this one to lift it above the muck. Still drinkable with food. Also moving a touch off-dry.

Mud, treeback, cherries, cocoa powder, raspberry, pomegranate. Starts out clunky and bretty, but really a spicy, powerful wine underneath that needs to come out. Fully mature, fresh acidity from the sour fruit, and ample richness to carry the palate.

Slight browning at the rim, and something a bit odd on the nose mixed in with earthy funk, soy notes, and stewed fruits that were slightly vegetal. There is still a sweet ripe red fruit backbone. Acid and tannins are balanced but moving in to the background. Despite the age, this wine was still bold. Fading a bit if you like your wines fresh, but there are still a few years of life and development ahead of this wine.
