Dinner at Kel's (Kelvin and Joyce's Place, Bishan): A little tired given its age, but this was still really enjoyable. The nose was certainly matured, with notes of damp undergrowth and toasty, earthy spice floating around a core of dried red fruited aromas. The palate was very enjoyable - soft and resolved on the attack and midpalate, with velvety tannins and a decent amount of fresh acidity framing mature flavours of dried red cherries and hawthorne berries again seasoned with a good bit of woody spice and just that touch of funky earth leading into a slightly truncated finish. This still kept some of the vestiges of the hot, hard tannins of the vintage at the very end, but otherwise a very charming drink.

Amazing tasting wine that I blind tasted with my brother in law during his trip to Montreal. Was amazed how old this wine was but has aged perfectly. A great pleasure to have the opportunity to taste a 42 year old wine thanks Omar for that chance!!!

Still surprisingly red. A lovely mature nose and seriously smooth to drink. Licorice was a dominant flavour. Not as sweet as an Ampeau 71 Volnay drank a few weeks earlier, this was slightly sweet, but significantly better.
Drank with my father and sister in KL.

Tour of Asia Dinner at Chez David's (David's Place, Mpls): Medium maroon color with moderate bricking. PNP, drank 1 glass over an hour. Wood spice, markedly muted dried red fruits, some dried spice. The palate is thin, alcohol and subtle dried cherry. An older wine that just doesn't have a lot left in the tank.

Well-developed but still with fruit. Long aftertaste. At least this bootle could have been kept for some years.
