Brought this to our wine group dinner last night, where one of the highlights was Luis' 2000 Le Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche from Maison Joseph Drouhin. The L-P was lacking; not many bubbles, a bit tired. It was drinkable and a few people said they appreciated the mature flavors. But this wasn't as good as my last bottle two year ago. Alas, this one was my last bottle of a six-pack case purchased in 2006. So even though it has been well stored over the years, its time had come.

Still plenty of bubbles surprisingly and a mature taste but not too dominant. A pleasant surprise as I was worried about its age.

Drank at 67 (Magnum)
Nicely evolving. Faint notes of nuts and slight oxidation.

Really an excellent Champagne. Drank with sautéd prawns and fresh green beans from the garden. Straw color, forward on the palette, nice finish.
