Popped and poured and enjoyed over a few hours. This is still a big and forward wine. Ample glossy fruit to compensate for the structure. Delicious and excellent for its level.

Burgundies with Friends: Nose shows tons of rich black cherries, plums, violets, this is bold and hefty on the nose. On the palate, a black cherry explosion with plump, young, chewy fruit and notes of violets and earth. This seems to need time. The ripest and most candied wine of the tasting.

Wow, this is really well done and Faulques has some special qualities compared to the normal Nuits Villages in terms of depth, complexity, and structure. There is some tannin evident that suggests this will age for at least 15 years if not more. It is accompanied by the generous fruit that is characteristic of the 2015 vintage. Solid QPR here.

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Ripe and forward combination of red and black fruit is so fun right now. While this firms up slightly middle-through-finish, it retains that bright, sweet charm of a great Côte de Nuits Villages. Big for its level, this is an amazing value wine. 88-89 point potential.

La Paulée de SF Grand Tasting (Fairmont Hotel, SF CA): Good cherry and strawberry nose. Sweeter red fruit with spice and some savory elements. Good structure in the back end. A solid value play. 89-90
