Extremely enjoyable and only opened because I saw a post from Adam Lee of Siduri fame of having dinner with David Ramey of Ramey…the drank a Ramey Chardonnay, Roar Pinot, and this Petite! Decanted and let breath for two hours. Very elegant but still very big and young…best with food. Nose was a strong blueberry right out of the bottle but mellowed considerably by the time we started drinking and was a light blackberry. Flavors were primarily raspberry, cola, and blackberry. This has an easy 10-years to go in the cellar.

Improved from 9 months. Still a youthful deep ruby-purple color. Aromas are subdued but the big fruit is there. Tannins noticeable but well integrated and do not detract. Quite drinkable now with some air but not fully mature.

30 minutes: Not getting as much as the nice fruit as last notes. The fruit and nose have a heavy barnyard element. Herbs and fennel still present.

Rich blueberry compote and currant, oregano, licorice nib, leather. Notes of fennel? A very solid wine and holding quite well, just not my style.

3 hour decant. Opened beautifully. Black cherry, big fruit, pepper, leather. Long finish. Paired perfectly with Elk.
