  • Full ruby color with clarity. Dried pomegranate and red floral aromas, with savory earth spices, black tea, hints of pine forest, sandalwood, all alluring on the nose. Nicely layered ripeness to the fruit with an evocative core of Santa Rita Hills-esque earth and spice-driven secondary depth. Densely-structured middle, with lifted elegance and nice flavor intensity. Well-integrated structure, marrying vibrant acid and fine fleshy tannins, and finishing with moderate juicy depth. Very nice, and should be great for moderate term aging.

  • Tasted this a while ago at the winery. I enjoyed this Pinot a lot. Like most Melville Pinots, it's a light to medium body wine with delicate fruit and tannins. When I was there, this wine had the best balance of the ones we tasted. For those complaining about the wine being too light .... why are you bothering with Pinots? You know you're really just looking for a cab at a more affordable price.
