Our first time with Textures - enjoyed with cheeses for apero out of GGG stems. Utterly unique - carmelised sugar on the nose, something like cornflakes/breakfast cereal, stone fruits. Much more giving than a BN would lead one to expect. Fine exuberant mousse. Vouette & Sorbée have done something special here with the pinot blanc.

Lemon, oysters/chalk, red apples, high acidity, only a hint of autolysis, very fine mousse, long citrus drivven finish, very concentrated, pecan nutts, some herbal notes like thyme, outstanding quality 92p
Served blind and i guessed Chardonnay

WhiskySomm comes into town pt. 1 (Oma's Hideaway, Portland OR): This is pristine, but with a more juiciness and herbal quality at the same time. There is a lot less autolytics to the nose as opposed to the Gerbais with tones of crushed rock, saline, white flowers, white peaches, green apples, fresh herbs, biscuit notes, a touch of dough, and bits of white fruits. The Medium bodied feel is lively and fresh with racy, high acidity. Here the acidity does have some extra bit of sting that slightly borders on being too tart. Still, this is a complex and fragrant Pinot Blanc Champagne that is much more than just an intellectual curiosity and very much a Champagne that offers up a beautifully unique take to the grape and region.

Excellent stuff - does what it says on the tin with a rich mulled apple and very vinous (there i said it) palate. Mouth filling but with a tangy delicious finish. Yum.
