  • tropical grapefruit and melon. Perfectly fine, but I think slightly past peak, missing a bit of freshness and energy.

  • PnP, consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear, pale gold. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developing aromas of ripe apricot and peach with melon rind, saline, and asparagus. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium+ intensity, medium body, 14.1% abv with developing flavors of ripe apricot, honeydew, and asparagus with a medium+ finish.

    Intensity: Excellent

Overall, performing very well for a seven-year-old appellation level Sauvignon Blanc. Probably slightly past peak, but still enjoyable. This bottle was a little more advanced than one I had 3 months ago. Recommend drink now, but likely will be enjoyable for at least another year or two.

  • 14.1% abv. Recent auction purchase.
I wasn't expecting much from this, but it turned out to be a real winner. On the heavier side of SB, but this was loaded with flavor and complexity. So much going on with this and overall, very pleasing. The wife enjoyed it, too.

  • Consumed over two days, stored in Somm du Vin, note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, medium gold. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with aromas of stone fruit - pear and apricot, tropical fruit - pineapple and mango, straw and acacia. Palate: Dry, medium intensity with developing flavors of apricot, pear, saline, and wet stone with a medium+ finish.

    Balance: Excellent
    Length: Excellent
    Intensity: Excellent
    Complexity: Excellent

Had the 2015 version recently also which is a little more advanced than this. I would say the 15 has peaked and started to decline while this is nearing it's peak. My WSET training would tell me a 7 year old Sauvignon Blanc is about 5 years past peak, but my personal experience tells me something different.

  • Nice nose of green apple and celery. Good acidity, well balanced. Notes of apple, celery and lemon. Nice finish, wine should last a few more years.
