Wow 4 of us had a dinner where we compared 7 fairly high priced california cabs on one bargain. All from 2014 and one 2013 and one 2015. Anomaly 2014, Cliff Lede Scarlet love 2014, Vineyard 29 Aida estate 2014, dakota shy 2015, Fairchild Stones 2 2014, Checkerboard aurora 2013, Pirate Treasure Red 2014. We drank the wines blind in two 4 pour flights. We choose our top two wines per flight then tasted those 4 in a final 4 flight. Interestingly enough in a unanimous decision our 2 most expensive wines finished 1 and 2 with the group who tasted. First time in the years we have been doing these blind taste dinners that the most expensive wines in our evening won the night so to speak.
Fairchild lead the pack except for one wine, Checkerboard 2013 Aurora vineyard. the nose was lovely but just a little more subdued than normal. Very layered and lovely. It never disappoints and was gone fairly early as we all went back to the bottle "for further evaluation" Love Fairchild.

Absolutely stunning pretty wine. Beautiful aromatics, opened 6 hours before Christmas Eve dinner at Bourbon Steak DC. Silky lush tannins, fruit and acid balance. Special wine.

No notes. Great lineup 1999 Margaux, 2014 Colgin Cariad, 2005 Scarecrow, 2015 Fairchild Stones 2.

PnP- needs way more time. Excellent wine. Top of the night for the Napa wines with some big heavy weights thrown in to keep things interesting.

Tannic cheery notes, chocolate pepper finish, still green, but opens well. Will benefit from a year or 3.
