MACDONALD Vertical Dinner (Saga): Started very feral and barnyard with a side of horse blanket. Kindof a sharp, almost turned red fruit. With some time in the glass that blows off although the wine is still muted. There's a certain energy that maybe I don't see as much in these wines as some of my favorite aged cabs.

To me, this wine of all the aged wines had the best entry without a doubt. This wine is made in a very old world and French style, and you can tell it from the start. I was a little worried about this wine, but the cork was in great shape and extracted by an ah-so with no problems. This wine had a very herbal nose, and herbal front. Raspberry front eventually emerged. The middle of this wine was actually quite full bodied. The finish was a little earthy, a little bit of mushroom, and tame oak. The wine was good, and still going after all these years. Look forward to the other bottle soon!

This bottle was showing better than the previous two. Wet forest floor, ink, soil, cherry licorice, caramel and coffee beans on the nose. The palate was a bit bitter with some tea after taste. Over the peak now, but still drinking ok. Drink ASAP.

Amazingly good, well balanced, not oxidized. Robert did not expect this wine to survive this long. Well done RM!

The greenness was overwhelming tonight. Wet forest floor, soil, and plums. Over the peak.
