nose- dried apricot. could smell a bit like a sauternes mouth - rich bordering on over the top, but in the end the acidity reels it back in and gives good structure. butterscotch. heavy, weighty. intense. pairing with the cheese was a good call.

A Magnificent Burgundy Afternoon (San Francisco): Full yellow. Floral and penetrating. Laid back, complex flavors of herbs and citrus. Wonderful mouth feel and length with soil coming through on the finish. Elegant, not at all flashy, but really quite majestic. Great showing for an an underdog producer in this heavyweight flight.

Last bt, breathed for 2 hrs, more powerful and less austere after airing, similar to notes 2 yrs ago, proper Montrachet GC - power with fine balance and elegant, complex, floral but also possess some Chablis GC minerality. A wow wine in a polite way.

Tasted it together with 15 different vintages from 1976 - 2012 and across 8-9 different winemaker. It was not ranked within the top 3 out from 12 participants. One of the white Burgundy wine to keep by Jeannie Cho Lee.

Color is light golden, but it is the beautiful nose of white flowers, hint of spice and oak that stand out. First sip feels slightly more acidic but it was in fact the sheer extract that struggles to get your attention, still very fresh, plenty of ripe stone fruits intervening with floal aroma. Mild mineral is detected from mid palate which added complexity to the wine that has a long finish. A nicely stored bottle sample.
