This is such a great wine. Awesome for during the week. So nice to find a wine of this quality at this price. Beautiful pure red fruits and lots of cold stoney flavors. Buy in bulk!

The Mauvesin Barton 2016 is comprised of 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 55% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc. The grapes were hand-harvested, fermented in a mix of thermo-regulated stainless-steel tanks, and matured for 12 months in French oak barriques, one third of them new. In the glass, the wine has a lustrous, dark violet color, almost black at the center, with flashes of ruby red at the edge. Clean fresh aromas of griotte cherries, sun-warmed blackberries, and crème de cassis sometimes alternate with aromatic suggestions of black licorice, Perigord truffles, and pan-wilted basil as the nose evolves in the glass. On the palate, the wine is ripe and generous, with an initial burst of black fruit flavors that echoes the nose, then evolves to include dried figs and fresh white tobacco, and just enough cocoa-dusty tannic intrigue at the finish to bring you back for an immediate double-checking sip

Classic west bank aromas with blackcurrant, graphite and some wood. Structured and classic on the palate with good concentration.
