  • Bought this on Robert Alfert's gushing praise for the producer, and *sigh* this is going to be another "Alfert was right" note. Dammit Alfert, are you happy now? This is a really red-fruited expression of Bordeaux - it's all sappy cherry fruit and sweeter floral notes up front, with more savoury earthy, smoky, and faintly leathery notes emerging with time in the decanter. It's a medium weight wine, Bordeaux in that old-school style of claret, and very easy to drink even this young with a graceful, silky texture and very fine grained tannin.

  • PNP. Dark cherry, raspberry, unobtrusive oak, early leather notes. Tart acidity, chewy tannins, medium body. Accessible now, but this is a serious wine for $50 that should develop nicely over the next 10-15 years.

  • Absolutely lovely with beef stew. I popped the cork the day before, and partially re-inserted, and left the bottle outside, roughly 50 degrees F, for 24 hours. Brought it inside and let it come up to about 60 F. That process worked quite well, to let it open up gradually. Black cherry and oak... enjoyed this wine immensely.

  • Primary nose with generous oak and dark fruit still dominating. The palate is well balanced like in all 2016 with good freshness. A bit light and harmless for a Grand Cru in this top vintage. Best after 2030.

  • Had on our patio last night.

Pop n Pour, needs 30mins of air, so recommend just a quick decant. Very pleasant, crunchy red fruit with just a nice tart.bordraux fruit background (all positive). Just a refreshing change from all the CdP And Cali Reds we drink with our friends.

I think this wine will age a bit, but nothing crazy, enjoyed as is
