Hail the dark master and bow to the dry chocolate, the ubridled sweetness and the typicity of Washington Stae; plenty of extraction here, but despite the concentration, it maintains balance. Works well with the duck, cuts through the fat withput problem and handles the sweet meat as well.

A lovely nose with good oak underscores of lively darkish fruit. Absolutely gorgeous palate, polished, smooth, rich and dense, but tannins completely integrated. Seductive and elegant finish. Wasn't quite as amazing the second night (often I find reds to be better the second night, keeping it under vac-u-vin and in refrigerator), but still greatly enjoyable.

Just starting to emerge from its shell. Roasted earth and grilled herbs. Deep jellied dark berry fruits.
Mammoth, yet still concealed by a bristling wall of tannins
Frustratingly like the last bottle: closed up with hints of potential hiding behind a wall of youthful tannins.
