Woody nose initially. Not overt vanilla but clear spice and sandalwood. Somewhat dusty later on. Shows lowish extraction. No real flesh to the eye but brighter in color. No sort of classic orangish coloring. Bright cherry fruits showing a touch ripe. Generous acids. Very generous tannin. Fine but quite firm. Just not all the interesting on the palate. Basic but good. This would be a great table wine for a restaurant. Pretty but helped by food and not super geeky, classic, old world which can throw people when you are in Nebbiolo. Checked in on this on night three and it shows a touch more classic with more tar and roses character. Still not all that expressive. This will certainly live a while given the structure. And Nebbiolo is known for lasting and changing. Probably best in 5 or so years I'd think. Just look for something solid rather than great and you'll be happy.

Indigena Ceretto Masterclass. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with thin garnet rim. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of vanilla oak, sour plums, sour red cherries, thin layer of earth. Developing. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), grippy high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black cherries, ripe red cherries, sour plums, licorice, sweet spices. Long finish. Very good quality. Nice fruit and substance. Tannins not as fine as the Ceretto Babaresco Cru bottlings. Will develop well over the next 5+ years. Conservative score. A blend of younger vine fruit from Asili cru in Barbaresco commune and lower parcel fruit from Bernadot cru in Treiso commune. Not entirely sure about the oak regime, but this seems to me to have a slight touch more oak than the single crus.

Aiolos Tasting (Intercontinental Hotel): Leather, red fruit, spicy, thin oak frame, the palate shows med to high acidity, red fruit, lean, a bit aggressive at this point, needs time to soften up

Not my wine; the impression of a worn wine. Maybe the wine needed more aeration.
