  • To me, this felt like what most of those super-trendy, low-intervention, low-alcohol, "smashable" wines WISH they could be, and at $30 (at WHWC LA) its a good deal too.

Wonderfully intense, complex, lifted aromatics- started off with a little stemmy funk before giving way to beautiful purply fruit, think plums/mulberries, all wrapped in an extremely present wet-stone mineral scent and the faintest vanilla sweetness. Could huff it all day. Palate is full of character- yes, it's infinitely drinkable but has present fruit, acidity, gently grippy tannin and a beautiful sweet finish that evokes hibiscus and watermelon. It has just a touch of sour tartness on the palate that holds it back from a 95 for me, but this is the best Beaujolais I've had in ages, approaching the complex elegance of a higher-end Moulin-A-Vent (thinking of a Jadot Rochègres) for less cost.
