Ceretto wine dinner with Federico ceretto (Osvaldo Ristorante Italiano, Maxwell Chambers): Pretty decent. Nose was rather Rhone like at first, with flowersm, beeswax, chalky mineral, earth and a toss of brambly herbs. I might have thought Viognier if served blind. Palate was a lot more neutral though - some sweet tropical underlying tones, jackfruit I thought, but all rather muted, along with some acidity, some mineral and a lemony overbite. Finish was decent with a touch more bittersweet mineral. It opened up with air, but I am not sure it actually got much better, just different, with a honeyed, almost Chenin Blanc-like note coming out on the nose and a little sticky weight on the palate. Pretty good with the stewed capsicum stuffed with tuna.

Part of a flight at Crust pizza & wine bar. The appearance is medium-colour straw. The nose, to me at least, is faint and indistinct. The taste is light, with flavours of green apple, and is crisp, a bit like champagne. This grape was thought to be nearly extinct, but was revived. It is called Barolo Bianco by many Italians. Overall, very good (85.5).

White flowers, grapefruits. Oily fatty on the mouthfeel. Pretty sweet on the palate with hardly any acidity. Quite flabby and very rhone white like.

Very nice: pear, peach, with floral notes on the nose. Medium bodied, medium acidity, well balanced and great food wine.
