Medium bodied, traditional styling, high quality cork holding up well. This wine represents the end of an era, and continues to drink extremely well. Rich with berries, blackest cherry, iron, granite. Good persistence and length.

Cool story & wanted to like it more than I did. The nose was a little too dusty/advanced/raisiny for me and at the end of a long wine night that can turn me off - we also had no food by that point which probably would have helped. Palate was fresher.

I didn't love this. While showing nice developing soft red fruits it also was very leafy (in a borderline too-much way) and still quite astringently tannic. It probably needed some animal fat to be on my plate. Had I more bottles, I'd wait at least 2-3 years.

Third Coast Soif (Chicago, IL): A random assortment of grapes that survived a spring frost. Has a fair bit of cabernet character showing in some green pepper, but overall a wine with nice acidity and good depth. Fun to taste this sort of blend.

Tasted at winery, only wrote: "long funky 93-94". I recall enjoying it immensely.
Named for 2010 frosts that wiped out vineyards normally reserved for their Black Pearl, Heart of Stone, and Mysterieuse. Remaining grapes became this one-vintage blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.
