This wine is at or past peak, depending on your preference. Hints of decline, sweet barn straw, peak maturity fruit and fungus, deep gold coloring, waxy full mouthfeel, med length finish with noticeable oxidative features. Drink up!

Fully developed, round, oily and focused on its sweet, pineapple, pear and citrus and honeysuckle profile, this is probably best consumed over the next few years.

Tasted both 2015 and 2016 this week. 2015 has put on more weight, rich and viscous, plus the weight. The 2016 is lean, acidic and lithe. Take your pick, but both show the versatility and intrigue of clairette grape, in different ways and vintages.

Deep golden straw color. Honeysuckle, beeswax, white flowers, pineapple citrus. Glass coating. In mouth, starts a little racier, med plus acidity, then turns rich and smooth, even cool temp. More beeswax, juicy Meyer lemon and tropical fruit on palate. Med plus length.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #130; France, Southern Rhone (By me): The bouquet was a bit locked but showed grasses, flowers and some rustic flavors. On the palate ripe yellow and white fruits and a firm amount of acidity and good bitterness. Good length. The wine was served too cold, but when it became a bit warmer and after it had a few hours of air it showed much more beautiful and complex. 91 - 92+ for tonight.
