  Wow!! This was spectacular tonight. I sourced this bottle directly from the library collection at the winery. Opened tonight for Friendsgiving. This tasted exactly like a very high-end Bordeaux. Spectacular structure, body, fruit and finish. One of the best noses I've had in a very long time. This really stood out as an exceptional example of a beautiful aged Napa wine. Such a great treat on a fun night with 16 friends. Cheers!!

  Aging well but probably past its peak. Now it is fully integrated and balanced without the "Stuffing" left for longer aging. Very mellow, smooth wine with a pleasant but not exciting finish. Red fruited and slightly carmelized. Drink up quickly

  1997 ARIETtA RED BLEND HUDSON VINEYARD NAPA- the winery was founded in 1996 by long time Napa winemaker John Kongsgaard, his wife Maggy and Fritz & Caren Hatton who were brought together by their love of music and a passion for wine; their label was named after Beethoven’s sublime last piano sonata. Today Fritz and his wife are the proprietors; I was looking forward to tasting this as it`s been many years since I`ve had any of their wines; however, our bottle was sadly Brett laden.

  Opened new Yeas Eve and finished today. Aerated and decanted, took a while to open up last night, but it was rich and full without heat or excess acidity. Even better the next day.Amazing.

  Really came alive after about 30 minutes. Far better than the Mondavi Reserve of the same vintage.
