Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 93 points

  • Opened and decanted an hour ahead of butter-soy pan-seared pork chops and mixed spinach salad. Cloudy, murky crimson color with a purple hue. Took about 1.5+ hours for the nose to reveal itself, and when it did it brought intense floral lavender, violets, potpourri, grape compote, mint, and whiffs of cherry pie. The palate is medium, round, compact, and extremely juicy, giving it a light-on-its feet character, bringing deep blackberries, blueberries, rhubarb, red cherries, pomegranate, salty brine, and lingering high-toned cherry and strawberry notes into an extended, refined finish. Still good tannins on this but overall drinks more like a Burgundy with pronounced acidity. Drink 2022-2028. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.
