The first sip and I won't say I was shocked, but I had a big surprise. It's the sweetest Beaujolais wine I have ever drunk in my life. And the beginning, that is, the smell was very nice. Lots of flowers, lots of blackberries, sweet spices. But there was also a warning sign, because there were no red fruit aromas! Taste - blackberries, black fruits in general, blueberries, soft spice. The wine as such is not bad at all, but in my head there is a completely different image of wines from this region. Complete lack of red fruit and spiciness. All this is strange and to me it looks like a more or less successful experiment. The only thing I like the most is the chewy texture. This makes the finish quite long. JD - 92 Decanter - 91 Third glass and it was always the best glass, but not this time. It's still sweet and I feel too much heat from alcohol. It feels like it's more than 13% ABV I agree with RP -87 pts. 'The palate is very sweet and chewy in the mouth, dense and demonstrative but to me missing the finesse and transparency that this wine ought to convey. It is trying to show a bit, when there is really no need to.'

rather aromatic. an extracted and a rather tannic (oak) take on gamay. ripe but tons of acid with tannic roughness. not a fruit bomb. overall rather savory and funky and a bit green.

It's a cliché that good Beaujolais crus are Burgundian in taste.. But it's kind of true.. It just means they're elegant, refined, and un-Beaujolais-like :) (a bit of a back-handed compliment, like "you're smarter than you look!"). In any case, terrific wine as you will see below
